1. JW Marriott Resort San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

TPC San Antonio

The JW Marriott San Antonio features two 18-hole championship golf courses collectively called TPC San Antonio. TPC San Antonio sprawls over 2,800 acres in the rolling hills of the San Antonio Hill Country. TPC was designed by some guys you may have heard of: Greg Norman, Sergio Garcia, and Pete Dye. Amenities include a clubhouse, golf shop, and instructors. The AT&T Oaks Course hosts the Valero Texas Open, an official PGA event, annually in April.

Open: 6am-8:30pm

 There is a daily golf “happy hour” 4:00pm through close when you can golf for $59 Monday through Thursday and $79 Friday through Sunday with clubs included.

2. Hyatt Regency Hill Country – San Antonio, Texas

Hill Country Golf Club

This golf club includes an 18-hole traditional course along with a 9-hole Family Express Golf course and a practice area with putting green. The club offers a picturesque hill country setting, with a variety of terrain and water features. 

Amenities include a luxury clubhouse, pro shop, golf carts with GPS,  four tee placements per hole, driving range, pro shop, and instructors. 

The club offers preferred tee-times and a golf vacation package with savings for guests.

3. La Cantera Resort – San Antonio, Texas

La Cantera Resort & Spa offers 36 holes of golf on 2 picturesque courses: The Resort Course and The Palmer Course.

The Resort Course

The Resort Course was voted the best course in San Antonio by a local newspaper in 2016. It is also a PGA Tour stop for 15 years running. The Resort Course open 6am – 6pm Tuesday to Sunday, it is closed on Monday.

The Palmer Course was designed by none other than Arnold Palmer and was voted 8th best golf course in Texas by Golf Magazine in 2016. It is open 7am – 7pm daily except closed on Tuesday.

Tee times at both courses are available 6am – 7pm and will run you $49 – $105 depending on the popularity of the time you want to reserve or you can reserve 2 tee times within 5 days for $159, price includes cart. Access to golf bag storage and practice facilities is complimentary with the resort fee.

4. Hyatt Regency Lost Pines – Bastrop, Texas

Wolfdancer Golf Club

Wolfdancer features an 18-hole, par 72 course, 13-acre practice area, and two putting greens. It is an Audubon-certified course which means Hyatt has reduced the course’s impact on wildlife so try not to hit any actual birdies on the course.

The clubhouse includes Major Neighbors Grill. Other amenities include a golf shop, locker rooms, and instructors. This club frequently runs specials for families and kids.

5. Gaylord Texan Resort – Grapevine, Texas

Cowboys Golf Club

While not technically part of the resort, the Cowboys Golf Club is located just 1 mile away from the Gaylord Texan Resort and any “stay and play” packages for travelers will include golfing at this club.

It offers an exclusive Dallas Cowboys-theme 18-hole course, making it the only NFL-themed course in the country! You can enjoy looking over some Cowboys memorabilia in the clubhouse after a day on the green.

Amenities include a clubhouse with pro shop, locker rooms, patio dining and a full bar.

Cost to play is about $200 per person, golf fees include: cart with GPS, practice balls, food, and non-alcoholic drinks for the day.

The course is open 6:30am – 7 pm daily.

6. The Woodlands Resort – The Woodlands, Texas

The Woodlands Resort offers guess access to 36 holes, a practice green, and a turf driving range.

Panther Trail Golf Course – 18 holes. Open 7am-7pm in the Summer and 7am – 6pm in the Winter.

The Oaks Golf Course– 18 holes. Open 7am-7pm in the Summer and 7am – 6pm in the Winter.

Hitting the green will cost you $90 Monday through Thursday and $105 Friday to Sunday and holidays. Reduced rates after 2pm. Price includes a cart, balls, and green fees.

Golf/resort attire is required on the courses so be sure to pack your polos!

7. Horseshoe Bay Resort – Lake LBJ, Texas

The Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ outside Austin has several courses nearby.

1. Slick Rock Golf Course – Open Tues-Sun 7:30am – close. Par 72, scenic course with a waterfall.
