The Isla Grand Beach Resort is located on South Padre Island on the Gulf of Mexico in South Texas. It is about a 4.5 hour drive from San Antonio or a 5.5 hour drive from Houston. If you choose to fly instead, the resort is about 25 miles from Brownsville/South Padre Island International Airport.

Pools and Lazy River
The Isla Grand Beach Resort has multiple pools and private beach access…. decisions decisions!
1. Pools.
- 2 Pools – There are 2 main pool areas at this resort.
- 2 Hot Tubs – There are 2 hot tubs that are located within one of the pools.
2. Lazy River.
There is no lazy river at this resort.
3. Beach Area.
The Isla Grand Beach Resort offers access to a private beach on beautiful South Padre Island. South Padre is known for its crystal blue water and white sand. Beach chair setup is available from Sonny’s Beach Service. Don’t forget to pack your beach toys!
4. Slides.
There are no slides at the Isla Grand Beach Resort.
5. Lounge Area.
Lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis around the pool. Beach chair service can be requested through Sonny’s Beach Service for a separate fee.
6. Food/Drink.
Dine poolside from Hungry Surfer Poolside Grill or wet your whistle at the Whiskeyshack Pool Bar
Child Care

A list of activities especially for kids is available from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Activities include: Kid’s Night Out, Movies, Arts and Crafts, and Sandcastle Building

There is a beach shop on the property that offers last-minute items for your littlest ones.
Golf
There is no golf course on this property. However, golfing is available on South Padre Island.

1. Windjammer Beachfront Cafe
A little bit of everything. Casual. Open Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
A South Padre Island Institution since 1959. Serving up a little bit of everything all of the time – choose from steak, seafood, pasta, or Tex Mex. Don’t miss the breakfast buffet from 8 am – 1 pm.
2. Quarterdeck Lodge
Bar and Nightclub. Open 11am-2am Nightly.
Always something going on at the Quarterdeck Lodge. Happy Hour 1-5 pm, live music nightly at 9 pm, and La Jaiba Downs Hermit Crab races Wednesday nights at 7 pm. Cheer your hermit crab to victory at this family-friendly event with the chance to score resort food and drink credits.
3. Hammerhead Deck
Grill with a view. Casual. Open Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Grill with an extensive menu of apps and handhelds and drinks with a 2nd floor view overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
4. Sandbar Courtyard
Enjoy a drink or a meal from the courtyard where your biggest decision to make is whether to sit at a table with your toes in the sand or to swing in a hammock chair. Our opinion – always choose the hammock!
5. Whiskeyshack Pool Bar
Poolside Bar. Casual. Noon to Dusk, seasonally.
Grab a refreshing frozen cocktail and settle in poolside. Cheers!
6. Hungry Surfer Poolside Grill
Poolside Grill, Casual, Seasonal Hours.
Grab a burger, chicken sandwich, or hot dog with a side of chips and a drink poolside from this grill with a beach shack vibe.
7. Coffee Hut
Coffee and Market, open from 6:30 daily.
Serving Starbucks coffee with grab-and-go pastries, snacks, and ICE CREAM! yum.
Accommodations
1. Cabana Rooms
The cabana rooms are the standard guest rooms at the Isla Grand Beach Resort in the two-story hotel building. There are King Rooms or Double Rooms with 2 double beds. A sleeper sofa can also be requested in the King rooms. All rooms have either a patio or balcony. Bathrooms may have either a walk in shower or a shower/tub combo. Choose from beach front, beach view, pool view, or foliage view (think lush green palms and ferns).
2. Condos
The 2 bedroom condos are located in a high-rise building on the Isla Grand Resort property. The condos offer 2 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double room), separate living/dining area with sleeper sofa), full kitchen and a Gulf view. These have 2 bathrooms with a tub/shower combination in the unit to make bathing kids easy after a day at the beach.
3. Amenities
Amenities include: wifi, mini fridge (cabana rooms), full kitchen (condos), hair dryer, and a coffee maker in addition to the standard things expected at a hotel.
Cribs are available upon request and rollaway beds are available.
4. Pets
Pets are allowed at this property. Max 50 lbs, $25 pet fee.
5. Resort Fee
There is a $25 resort fee that includes access to pools and beach as well as other resort amenities.
Spa
There is no spa at the Isla Grand Beach Resort. You’ll have to settle for the sound of the waves with your toes in the sand to relax you!
