The Log Country Cove is a community of private homes and cabins for rent on Lake LBJ. Choose the cabin that’s right for your family with a choice of between 1 through 5 bedroom with a rustic log cabin vibe. There’s also a common area with amenities such as a water trampoline, beach volleyball, a rope swing, and rentals of boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards. The majority of the home are waterfront, most have lawn games and some have hot tubs available as well.

The Lakeway Resort and Spa on Lake Travis is the perfect combination of Central Texas and lakeside with close proximity to downtown Austin. I grew up waterskiing on Lake Travis so it always has a special place in my heart. The infinity pools are a perfect way to cool off with a lake view or opt for the slides instead, you really can’t go wrong.

What we love most about it: Watching the sunset on Lake Travis from the infinity pool.

 

 

 

4. Rayburn Resort – Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas

 
The Rayburn Resort is a lakeside resort on Lake Sam Rayburn in East Texas with a lodge, cottages, or RV sites for guests to choose from. In addition to lake and water sport activities, amenities at the resort include a pool with lazy river (coming soon), horseback riding, sport courts, as well as a day spa. This resort has a little bit of everything all of the time and we are here for it! 
 
What we love most about it: cute lakeside cottages…. and the lazy river when it opens (duh!)
 

 

5. Canyon Lakeview Resort- Canyon Lake, Texas

The Canyon Lakeview Resort is a lakeside community of cabins and lodging on Canyon Lake in the Texas Hill Country between San Antonio and Austin. The cabins are rustic but affordable… and did we mention lakeside? There are community amenities such as beach volleyball, fire pits, a pool, and grilling areas. 
 
What we love most about it: six cute lakeside cabins… eenie, meenie, miny, moe

The Lake Austin Spa Resort on Lake Austin is an all inclusive lakeside spa resort with a focus on health and wellness. Guests can arrive via water taxi to start things off right. Water activities include waterskiing, as well as paddleboard yoga, and SUP board balance fitness classes just to name a few.

7. Horseshoe Bay Resort– Lake LBJ, Texas

The Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lake LBJ outside of Austin is one of the best lakeside resorts in Texas. The variety of accommodations available make planning the perfect getaway a breeze – whether it’s for couples, families, or reunions. While the Horseshoe Bay Resort does not have a lazy river… the lakeside beach and lake access more than make up for that. The child care options are great at this resort so it’s easy to enjoy some adults-only time on the lake (or at the spa). Our favorite time to visit this resort is during bluebonnet season (March-May) when the drive out to Lake LBJ from Austin is in a word… stunning!

What we love most about it: kayaking on Lake LBJ and kid’s care activities.

 
 

 

8. Tanglewood Resort– Lake Texoma, Texas

The Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma in Pottsboro, Texas checks all the boxes for a Texas Family Resort like having an onsite restaurant, a spa, golf, and a resort pool with the added bonus of all the lake sports as well! Guided fishing excursions and watercraft rentals are available for guests to schedule. Compared to the other lake resorts this one is a bit dated but just as much fun! 
 
What we love most about it: fishing experience with a guide so I can do the fun parts…. and not the gross parts of fishing
