Hyatt Regency Hill Country

1. Guest Rooms.

Guest rooms at the Hill Country Hyatt are 392 square feet with Texan luxury decor that fits right into the hill country setting. Options include 1 king bed or a double room has 2 full sized beds in it. These 2 configurations can be selected as a standard room or with a balcony, a walk out patio or ADA shower accommodations. I think patio rooms are worth the premium because you can access your room straight from the resort without having hassle with the elevator or hotel hallways. However, there is less privacy – especially if your room is near a common area.

2. Suites.

Suites are also available with 1 or 2 bedrooms. The standard one bedroom suite provides 599 square feet of space that sleeps 4 with 1 king bedroom separated by a door (yay!) from a living area with a full sized sleeper sofa and a dining table. The 2 bedroom suite option has another adjoining room providing 991 square feet of space and accommodations for 8. Fancier suite options are available on their website.

Bathrooms have a tub/shower combo.

3. Amenities.

Amenities are the same for both rooms and suites. They are pretty standard including: wifi, mini fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker, and an iron with ironing board.

Cribs are available upon request. Rollaway beds are $25/night.

4. Pets.

This is a dog friendly hotel. The weight limit for one dog is less than 50 pounds or two dogs must have a combined total weight less than 75 pounds. Pet fee is $150 for up to a 6 night stay and an additional $150 for stays 7 – 30 days long.

5. Resort Fee.

A resort fee of $35 plus tax per night is applied to your bill as well. This fee includes access to the spa, preferred tee times, nightly fireside s’mores, organized activities, Edge Falls access and more.

Pure Wellness rooms have fancy tech that supposedly 99% of allergens for only about $10-20 more per night. Environmental allergens in Austin can be no joke and we even have our own “Cedar Season” from November to February so this may be an option worth looking into!

For families that need a little more space, there are 2 suite options available at The Lakeway Resort.

Gaylord Texan Resort

1. Guest Rooms.

This hotel offers 350 square foot rooms with either 1 king or 2 queen beds. These configurations can be selected as standard, center atrium view (main atrium), or partial atrium view (either Hill Country or Riverwalk atriums). Although it makes for good people watching, I would recommend against the atrium rooms due to the noise level.

2. Suites.

One bedroom suites are available offering 540-640 square feet of space with 1 king bedroom and a living area or a larger 900 square foot suite with the same configuration. The price is actually not that much more for a suite compared to an atrium room and I think it would be well worth it to have a separate bedroom.

3. Amenities.

Amenities include: wifi, hair dryer, mini fridge, coffee maker in addition to the standard things expected at a hotel. The bathrooms have a tub/shower combination.

Cribs are available upon request and rollaway beds are $25/night. Limit of one crib or rollaway bed per room, two per suite.

4. Pets.

Pets are not allowed at this property.

5. Resort Fee.

There is a $20 per night resort fee that includes 2 bottles of water per day, 2 bike rentals, admission to Glass Cactus Nightclub for guests over 21, and Cowboys Golf Club practice facilities access on Friday and Saturday.
