Top 16 Best Lazy Rivers in Texas

Mom Tested, Kid Approved – Updated 2026

1. Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa– San Antonio, Texas

The Ramblin’ River lazy river at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio feels like a relaxing Hill Country escape, with large shade trees, waterfalls, and a 950-foot route that feels tucked into nature even though it sits in the middle of a lively resort. It connects directly to the main activity pool and includes single, double, and kid-sized tubes, making it easy for the whole family to enjoy. It is temperature-controlled but can feel a bit cool on a brisk morning, rarely an issue in Texas! While you’re there, you also won’t want to miss Big Springs Lagoon, a 2.2 acre man-made lagoon with crystal clear water and white sandy beaches where you can enjoy activities like swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding – talk about refreshing!

What we love most about it:

  • Enjoying a drink from the riverside swim-up (float up?) bar
  • The sandy “beach” area is right along the reiver
  • Tube options for all ages, including single, double, kid-sized tubes

2. JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa – San Antonio, Texas

The lazy river at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa is one of our favorites in Texas thanks to its beautiful setting, temperature-controlled water, and extra-long 1,100-foot layout that makes for a super relaxing float. The lazy river is lined with native Hill Country landscaping and has single and double tubes available. Even though there are no kid-sized tubes, younger kids can still enjoy it (it’s about 3.5-4′ deep), and the resort’s other water features, including slides, pools, hot tubs, and a sandy beach pool, make it easy to turn a lazy river day into a full water park experience!

What we love most about it:

  • A water slide that launches you into right the Lazy River
  • It is long and relaxing without feeling too spread out
  • It is not connected to the beach area, so no sand in the lazy river! (iykyk)
