Pool and Lazy Rivers
“Forest Oasis” Lazy River and Water Park at The Woodlands Resort provides a great place to stay cool and have fun with 2 pools, 3 whirlpools, slides, and a lazy river. It is open 9 am-10 pm daily but the slides close at 6 and the lazy river closes at dusk. Entry is only available to overnight hotel guests with a wristband, a max of 4 per room.
1. Pools
- Main Recreation Pool – This family-friendly activity pool has a central 30-foot tower with a “racing slide” and waterfalls. There is also underwater music and a mural to explore.
- Relaxation Pool – This pool is lagoon-style and unofficially the adult pool. It is heated in cooler months.
- Kids Pool – “Puffy’s Sprayground” offers a zero-grade entry pool with fountains and waterspouts sure to keep the squeals coming. Keep an eye out for “Puffy”, the pinecone resort mascot.
2. Lazy River
The lazy river is an impressive 1,005 feet long. It is not heated and is separate from the other pools.
3. Beach Area
There is no sandy beach area at this resort.
4. Water Slides
The slides at The Woodlands Resort are super fun! There’s even a set of racer slides you can challenge your kids (or your spouse) to see who can splash into the recreation pool fastest! They are open from 9 am-6 pm daily.
5. Lounge Areas
Standard hotel poolside loungers around the pools and lazy river. There are some in-pool loungers available as well to help you beat the heat while catching some rays! There are 4 cabanas available for rent that provide you with shade with seating for up to 6.
6. Food/Drink
Cool Water Cafe offers a selection of lunch and dinner items to enjoy poolside and an extensive drink menu – both adult and kid-friendly that put a Shirley Temple to shame.
Child Care
The Woodlands Resort does not provide childcare options in-house.
Shopping
Both Target and Walmart are about 3 miles from the resort for any last-minute items.
Golf
The Woodlands Resort offers guests access to 36 holes, a practice green, and a turf driving range.
1. Panther Trail Golf Course – 18 holes. Open 7 am-7 pm in the Summer and 7 am – 6 pm in the Winter.
2. The Oaks Golf Course– 18 holes. Open 7 am-7 pm in the Summer and 7 am – 6 pm in the Winter.
Hitting the green will cost you $90 Monday through Thursday and $105 Friday to Sunday and holidays. Reduced rates after 2 pm. The price includes a cart, balls, and green fees.

Restaurants
1. The Woodlands Dining Room
A casual restaurant open for breakfast and lunch
Offering an extensive buffet as well as personalized items like omelets. The breakfast buffet will run you $22 for adults and $12 for children, while the lunch buffet is $2 more per person.
2. Robard’s Steakhouse
A steakhouse with a trendy, upscale setting open for dinner.
The menu offers a variety of steak and seafood options including fun starters like crab claws and Mediterranean octopus.
3. Cool Water Cafe.
Poolside Cafe offering a wide selection of American food.
Whether you’re craving a salad, sandwich, fish tacos, or quesadilla you can find it here. There is a kids menu with a selection of toddler-friendly items as well as an extensive cocktail menu offering both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. Just be sure to save room for dessert at the Sweet Spot Ice Cream Parlour next to the cafe.
4. The Bistro
American, Casual atmosphere, Open for lunch and dinner, and a decent bar open til midnight.
You can enjoy anything from marinated olives to flatbreads and burgers. This is also where you’ll find the most extensive beer selection as well as wine, bourbon, and single malt scotch.

Accommodations
Guest Rooms
The hotel offers several options of rooms with either 1 king bed or 2 queen beds in a double room. You can select a standard room or one with a private Balcony, a patio, or pool walk-out (my fav).
Suites
Suites are also available. A “Grand Suite” has 1 king bedroom separate from the living room area but you’ll have to upgrade to the “Balcony Suite” for it to include a half bath in the living area as well.
All bathrooms have a separate shower and tub.
Amenities
Amenities in rooms and suites include an in room safe, mini fridge, and Keurig coffee maker. Wifi is complimentary in guest rooms.
Pack and plays are available upon request. Rollaway beds are available for king rooms and suites for a fee of $35. There is a $25 fee per adult for rooms with more than 2 adult occupants, max of 2 per queen room and 3 per king room or suite.
Pets
This hotel is dog friendly. Weight limit for dogs is 40 pounds, maximum of 2 dogs per room. There is a $100 pet fee for up to 4 nights and an additional $100 fee for stays from 5-15 days. The hotel even offers a pampered pet package and a “yappy” hour on the patio at Robard’s complete with a doggie menu.
Resort Fee
A resort fee of $35 is applied to your bill as well. The resort fee includes: 2 bottles of water daily, daily family activities, and access to the Forest Oasis Waterpark, spa, and golf practice facilities to name a few.
Spa
Services include: massages (including couples), facials, body wraps, and scrubs, as well as nail services. The spa also features a eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, and whirlpool that you can enjoy without an appointment.
