The La Cantera Resort and Spa is a hill country resort is located about 20 miles from the San Antonio Riverwalk, about 15 miles from San Antonio International Airport, and just 1.5 miles from Six Flags Fiesta Texas amusement park.

Pools & Lazy Rivers
La Cantera Resort has 3 pools and 2 waterslides available to guests and those with a day pass ($45/adult, $15/child over 3). The pools are heated.
Pools

- Kid’s Pool – Kid-friendly pool with 2 slides and a splash area.
- Topaz (Adult Pool) – Adult-only infinity pool with hill country views.
- Loma de Vida (spa pool) – I see your adult pool and raise you a spa pool.
Lazy River
There is no lazy river at this resort.
Beach Area
There are 2 slides located in the kids pool.
Lounge Area
Cabana rentals are available at all three main pools (10 cabanas at the Adult Pool, 2 cabanas at the Resort Pool, and 4 cabanas at the Kid’s Pool). Cabanas include TVs, a refrigerator, and a safe. The adult pool cabanas also have a bluetooth sound system.
Food/ Drink
Guests at the adult pool enjoy upscale poolside services from Topaz (think: steamed edamame, lobster grilled cheese, seared ahi salad) while guests at the resort or kid’s pool enjoy poolside services from Vista Grille (think: chicken strips, quesadilla, turkey club wrap). One feels fancy but the other one has Dippin’ Dots.

The La Cantera Resort & Spa does offer a Kid’s Club child care service available daily from 9 am – 10 pm. It is open to kids ages 4-12 and must be reserved with 12 hours advance notice.
You can reserve child care for the following time slots:
- 9 am – 1 pm for $65 (includes lunch)
- 9 am – 5 pm for $110, (includes lunch and a snack)
- 2 pm – 5 pm for $45, (includes a snack)
- 6 pm – 10 pm for $65, (includes dinner)
Shopping
There is a Target about 2 miles from the resort near The Rim shopping that is accessible via the complimentary resort shuttle to pick up any last-minute or forgotten baby items.
Golf
La Cantera Resort & Spa offers 36 holes of golf on 2 picturesque courses, The Resort Course and The Palmer Course.
The Resort Course
The Resort Course was voted the best course in San Antonio by a local newspaper in 2016. It is also a PGA Tour stop for 15 years running. The Resort Course is open 6 am – 6 pm Tuesday to Sunday, it is closed on Monday.
The Palmer Course
The Palmer Course was designed by none other than Arnold Palmer and was voted 8th best golf course in Texas by Golf Magazine in 2016. It is open 7 am – 7 pm daily except closed on Tuesday.
Tee times at both courses are available 6 am – 7 pm and will run you $49 – $105 depending on the popularity of the time you want to reserve or you can reserve 2 tee times within 5 days for $159, price includes cart. Access to golf bag storage and practice facilities is complimentary with the resort fee.

1. Signature
Seafood/Steak, Upscale, Open for Sunday Brunch (10:30 am – 2 pm) and Dinner (T-F 4:30-10 pm, Sat 5:30-10 pm, Sun 5:30-9 pm). Happy Hour Tues-Fri 4:30-6.
This is the resident upscale restaurant (see: pricey, plate will run your $40-50) offering a variety of rich dishes sure to please. Nosh on some escargot while you ponder whether to order beef tenderloin, seared sea scallops, or a roasted rack of lamb.
2. Sweet Fire Kitchen
American, Casual, Open Mon-Sat for Breakfast (7 am – 11 am), Lunch (11 am), Dinner (5- 10 pm). Sunday Brunch 9 am – 2 pm.
Locally sourced American cuisine with impressive vegetarian options. The breakfast menu gives you a variety of tasty options from egg dishes and waffles to salads and sandwiches. The dinner menu offers a flavorful selection of southern-inspired cuisine (think: fried deviled eggs & chicken on a stick) as well as brick oven pizzas and grill offerings (think: beef, pork, and even cauliflower steaks for those vegetarians in the back).
3. Primero Cantina
Tex-Mex, Casual, Open Breakfast (Sun 7-11 am), Lunch (daily 11 am-5 pm), and Dinner (daily 5 pm-11 pm).
Classic tex-mex offering like tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and guac (duh).
4. Sire Bar
Lobby Bar, Casual, Bar Snacks Sun- Fri 4 pm-1 am & Sat 2 pm-1 am.
King Ranch-inspired bar (the place, not the casserole) with an impressive selection of whiskey – bourbon, rye, scotch, Canadian, Japanese, and even Taiwanese. They also have wine, beer (draught and bottled), sherry, port, brandy, and cognac. Can’t decide? Try a flight.
5. Boscado
Lobby Bar Snacks, Casual. Open daily 4 pm-11 pm.
Charcuterie and macaroons are on the menu because why not? Enjoy while sipping on a cocktail at Sire Bar.
6. Topaz
Poolside Grill (Adult Pool), Poolside Casual, Open Seasonally.
Best described as upscale poolside fare available at the adults-only pool. Options include crab & lobster cakes, seared ahi salad, and lobster grilled cheese.
7. Vista Grille
Poolside Grill, Poolside Casual, Open Seasonally.
The poolside grill for everyone else. Dine on chicken strips, salads, and wraps. There is also a kid’s menu, full bar, and Dippin’ Dots (yes, those Dippin’ Dots).
8. Henrietta’s Market
Market. Open Daily (Sun-Thurs 6 am-9 pm, Fri & Sat 6 am-10 pm).
“Old-fashioned” market with vittles and (overpriced) items you may have forgotten at home. Grab-n-go food items and snacks for any time of day, ice cream, and a barista for when the in-room Keurig just doesn’t cut it.
9. Grill 254
Sports Bar/Golf Grill, Casual. Open Breakfast (Tues-Sun 6:30-11 am), Lunch (daily 11 am-5 pm), Happy Hour (3-7 pm), Dinner (daily 5-11 pm).
You don’t have to be a golf fan to love this place. Located at the Resort Course clubhouse, this golf side grill has enough TVs to ensure you won’t miss a game for any sports fans. Expect classic offerings like salads, sandwiches, burgers, and even loaded fries along with a full bar and 24 beers on tap.
10. Quenche Juicery
Spa restaurant, open daily 8 am – 8 pm.
Offering a variety of fresh juices, bowls, salads, and drinks. A little refresher with your refreshers.
Accommodations
Guest Rooms
Standard guest rooms are 395 square feet and available as with either one king or two Queen beds. Options include: balcony and either hill country, city, or resort views
Suites
One bedroom suites offer 550 square feet with a private king bedroom and separate living area. Pool View Junior Suites offer a larger room (570 square feet) with a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa in a living area that is separated by a partial screen but no physical door. Luxury and Presidential suites are available as well.
Villas
The suburb of La Cantera Resort… rent a freestanding villa that is a short golf cart ride away from the heart of the resort. You have access to all resort amenities as well as access to a private pool and bar open only to those staying in the villas. Personal golf cart, valet parking, fancier bath products and in room coffee maker, personal outdoor patios, and refrigerators included. Would be great for a family reunion to stay “together” without staying together!
SEVEN
Offers the standard guest rooms on the top floor that are available only to guests 21 and up. Other perks of a SEVEN room include complimentary valet, private check in lounge, fancier bath products and in room coffee maker and a daily happy hour from 5-7. Save this one for when you leave the kids at home… parents on the loose!

Hours: Daily 9 am – 8 pm
Services include: Massage (including prenatal) with various enhancements, body treatments (scrubs, wraps, rituals), nails, a hair salon, and access to private “intentional spaces” that can be reserved.
Quenche, the resident spa restaurant is available 8 am – 8 pm. It offers a variety of fresh juices, bowls, salads, and drinks.
